I became a therapist due to a mentor I had as a child. She had such a profound impact on me and how I viewed myself and my life. I felt “I want to be her for other kids when I grow up.” She was a person that I could speak with, was always present and encouraged me to do my best. I wanted to give kids the same experience and catch them before their cognitive constructs become beliefs and color their experiences in life. As an adult I have learned to value the creation of relationships. I value supporting couples with learning about their partner without cognitive distortions and the presence of the “little scientist” mentality. My approach is meeting you were you are, addressing your needs as you define them and empowering you with an awareness that you are the most powerful person in your life.
