How Our New Spring Mental Health Office Can Help You

For years, families in Spring, The Woodlands, and surrounding North Houston communities faced a difficult choice when they or their loved ones needed mental health care: make the long drive into Houston during rush hour, or go without specialized treatment.

That’s why we opened our Spring location.

Our new clinic brings comprehensive mental health services for all ages to families in North Houston.

What Makes Transitions Counseling Different

Comprehensive Mental Health Services for Every Age

Our Spring clinic offers the full spectrum of mental health care for children, teens, and adults:

1. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): Hospital-level care during daytime hours (5-6 hours per day, 5 days weekly) while clients return home each evening. PHP provides intensive support for those experiencing:

  • Suicidal thoughts or recent self-harm
  • Severe depression or anxiety interfering with daily life
  • Crisis situations not improving with weekly therapy or medication
  • Recent hospital discharge requiring continued intensive care

Currently, our Spring location only offers PHP for adolescents and teens.

2. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Structured therapy sessions 3-4 days per week (typically 3 hours per session) for those who need more than weekly counseling but less intensity than PHP. IOP helps manage anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation challenges while maintaining work, school, or daily responsibilities.

Available for both teens and adults at our Spring location.

3. Individual Therapy: One-on-one counseling for children, adolescents, and adults with therapists specializing in age-appropriate approaches. We use evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR for trauma.

4. Child & Family Therapy: Specialized services for children experiencing behavioral challenges, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, or developmental concerns. We also offer family therapy to strengthen communication and resolve conflicts.

5. Couples Counseling: Relationship therapy for couples navigating communication problems, trust issues, life transitions, or other relationship challenges.

6. Psychiatric Services: Medication evaluation and management for children, teens, and adults with psychiatric providers experienced across the lifespan.

Designed for Spring-Area Residents

We built this clinic with North Houston families in mind:

  • Location & Accessibility: Situated in Spring near major thoroughfares, our clinic is easily accessible from Spring, The Woodlands, Tomball, Klein, and Cypress. Most residents arrive within 10-15 minutes.
  • Welcoming Environment: Our space was designed to feel comfortable and safe for all ages.  It’s not a clinical hospital setting, but a warm environment where children, teens, and adults can open up.
  • Ample Parking: Unlike other Houston locations where parking can be challenging, our Spring clinic offers convenient parking.
  • School & Work Coordination: We will work with area school districts—Spring ISD, Klein ISD, Tomball ISD, and Conroe ISD—to coordinate care for students. We also offer flexible scheduling for working adults, including some evening appointments.

Understanding North Houston Mental Health Challenges

Spring-area residents face unique pressures that contribute to mental health struggles:

  • Academic and Career Pressure: From competitive school districts to demanding careers in Houston’s energy and medical sectors, North Houston residents often experience high-pressure environments. This contributes to anxiety, burnout, and depression across all age groups.
  • Suburban Isolation: Unlike urban areas with walkable neighborhoods, North Houston’s suburban layout can leave people feeling isolated. This affects everyone—from teens who depend on parents for transportation, to stay-at-home parents feeling disconnected, to remote workers lacking daily social interaction.
  • Life Transitions: Spring-area families frequently experience relocations for work, empty nest transitions, career changes, and other major life shifts that can trigger anxiety and depression.
  • Family Stress: Juggling demanding careers with parenting creates stress for entire families. Children pick up on parental stress, parents struggle with work-life balance, and marriages face strain.
