Continuing Education

At Transitions Counseling and Consulting, we believe that ongoing professional development is essential to delivering high-quality care. That’s why we’ve built a robust mental health continuing education program designed to foster growth, sharpen clinical skills, and support long-term success for every clinician on our team.

Flexible Learning: In-Person and Online CE Opportunities

As an accredited provider through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), we offer continuing education (CE) hours tailored specifically for mental health professionals. Our monthly CE series—available both in-person and online—is completely free for our staff and provides up to 18 CE hours annually. Each session is led by seasoned clinicians known for their engaging, practical, and often humorous presentation styles, earning consistently outstanding reviews.

Signature Training Programs: Specialized Learning for Full-Time Team Members

In addition to our monthly series, full-time employees at Transitions have access to our signature training program. Each year, staff can select and participate in a high-impact, evidence-based course from a curated list—at no cost to them. Past training options have included:

  • EMDR Basic Training (6 full days plus 20 hours of consultation and the professional text book)
  • EMDR Advanced Skills: Managing Dissociation
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
  • Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS)

This initiative reflects our commitment to equipping clinicians with the tools they need to deliver effective, compassionate care grounded in best practices.  We aim for every clinician to have the opportunity to permanently increase their practice skill set.

Coming in 2025: CE Library Launch

In late 2025, we’re excited to launch a CE library that will be open not only to our staff but also to the broader professional community. We plan to make a selection of high-quality, NBCC-approved CE courses available to the public—offering a flexible, affordable way for mental health professionals across the country to meet licensure requirements and sharpen their skills.
