I was drawn to mental health therapy after gaining a greater understanding of the social model perspective. The social model encourages acceptance of human-beings individualized needs, while drawing attention to external factors that could be creating barriers in addressing those needs. I strongly value mental health advocacy and believe individuals should be addressed as a whole person, which consists of acknowledging those external factors playing into their mental health. In our sessions, my hope is to create a space where you feel safe to explore what’s on your mind and move at a pace that feels right for you. I primarily use DBT and ACT interventions along with somatic techniques to help you process painful experiences, gain coping skills, and develop a stronger sense of self.
