Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) at Transitions Counseling provides a focused course of treatment that supports rapid mental health recovery. PHPs offer diagnostic and treatment services similar to those of a hospital inpatient program, but on an outpatient basis (no overnight stay). The program includes 4-6 hours of treatment Monday through Friday across six to eight weeks. Participants will also attend weekly appointments with a psychiatry provider so that their progress and medications can be carefully monitored.
At Transitions Counseling, we offer the following partial hospitalization programs:
- Adolescent (ages 14-17) at the North Phoenix and South Mountain locations
- Adults (ages 18+) at the Glendale and South Mountain locations
Participants can utilize this program as a step down from inpatient care or as a step up from traditional outpatient treatment. PHPs work well for individuals with increased symptoms, behavioral disturbances, or who are struggling with other conditions that complicate their mental health. A complete diagnostic evaluation is required for program admission. Our PHP curriculum has a strong emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Clients may also participate in expressive therapies, individual and group counseling sessions, and trauma therapies as appropriate for their particular treatment plan. Despite the fact that most people naturally feel nervous about the prospect of group-based treatments, most people find that they actually prefer groups after trying them out.
Transitions Counseling is the premier provider of partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) in Phoenix and the surrounding areas because we offer treatment like a hospital program but in a private office setting. Our PHP can provide you with a safe, supportive environment to work through your mental health issues so you can get back to fully engaging in the things that are most important in life.
